Lochiel Estate "The Laird" 2013
Take our ripest Malbec and ferment in the style of a vintage Port but fortify a little earlier to achieve natural sweetness and then age in American Oak barriques in our own solera topped up each year with the current vintage. The end result a unique and lovely wine to savour after dinner with a cheese board, dark unsweetened chocolate or even Christmas cake or pudding. As the wine is aged in a solera it can be enjoyed now but will also benefit from cellaring (on its side as it is sealed with a cork) to achieve the final mellowing as one would with a vintage port. 500ml bottle.
